nix rolled her eyes and then sat down on the rather dirty pub chair and then leaned on her hand as it rested on the table. She was most extremely bored and she knew that there would be no one about she knew so she would remain bored for a fair while longer unless she did something about it. Her best and dearest friend tain was still in africa dealing with some cocky and mildly insane twit go seemed to be under the impression That he could take over down there and no one would notice or care. Nix gave a small snigger and then picked up her glass and drank the last of the sods inside it and then banged it down on the desk with a chuckle ,she dipped a a shadow-wrapped hand in to her pocket and then dropped a fiver on the table as the waitress walked over, She dipped her head to the younger girl and then leaned back on her chair and tilted her head to one side ,"do you think having a drink would be a good idea if I'm going to be riding a bike to get back to my hotel?" she asked be girl and the girl looked at her and then glanced at the counter ,"I'd say no, but if anyone asks I told you to buy as many as you can" the girl said in a low voice as she walked away past nix

It had been another uneventful night at the club she'd been working at. The bouncer she'd been filling in for had called in sick, but she knew he was just taking the night off to spend it with his fiance. Not that she could blame him for skipping out; the place was a crap hole.Like every other place I work at. Ha.
As she entered the pub, she earned a couple side-ways glances; it was to be expected, considering the multiple scars she sported across her face. Ignoring the looks, she sauntered over to the bar, passing a redheaded woman on her way there(Nix).
"Hm...one beer. I don't care what brand, so long as it's cold." The bartender didn't ask any questions, and instead wandered off to fill her order.As she waited on the beer, she dug through the pockets of her jeans in search of a stray cigarette. Finding one, she stuck it in her lips. From the corner of her eye, she couldn't help but notice the shadows that seemed to stick to the redhead's hands. A smirk danced across her scarred lips. No one seemed to notice as she lit her cigarette without a lighter; only those that paid close attention would catch the way she had snapped her fingers to conjure the flame."Thanks." The bartender merely grunted in response. Shrugging her shoulders, she began chugging away at the drink.

Nix tipped herself back on her chair and then muttered as a cold breeze flew in through the door way and turned her head to see a rather scarred woman who seemed a little older than her walk in and sit up at the bar. Nix watched her for a moment before shrugging her shoulders and then looking around for the waitress again, she spotted her walking out to the back of the pub wig her apron over her arm and nix sighed and then pushed up on the table and stood up ,"great time to clock off kiddo" she said with a slight grin as she slid off her fingerless gloves and dropped them in her coat pocket. It did feel eerie not to have them on but she knew if a human saw them she'd have all sorts of fun on her hands that she didn't want, she looked over to the dark haired girl at the bar and then nodded and walked over and sat a few stalls up from her and waved and very bare feeling hand to get the bartenders attention

" 'ey, barkeep. Gimme another." Even though it looked like the man behind the bar was ignoring her, she knew better. Smirking at him as he wandered off to wherever they kept the booze hidden, she glanced down at the cigarette held loosely in her fingers; half of it was smoldering ash.Hmm, 'bout time he came back. Sipping at the beer,she paused to find another death stick to light up.
Seeing the redhead's nod in her direction, she nodded back, a newly lit cigarette dangling from her lips again. With a deep breath, she inhaled the smoke before breathing it out of her nose. Half-hooded eyes followed the smokes progress up to the ceiling till she grew bored. Curiosity getting the better of her, she wandered over to where the girl had migrated to.
"No need to look so scared, buddy." A dry laugh escaped her scarred lips as she caught the look on the bartender's face as she passed him by, beer held in her hand."Just coming over to say hi is all." With a dismissive nod to him, she turned her eyes on Nix."Hey. I must point out that you had some fancy looking gloves on earlier, and I've gotta say I haven't seen anything like them in a long time."Making herself comfortable, she grabbed a seat at Nix's stall."Say, I don't believe I've seen you around town; you new or somethin'?"

Nix watched the other woman come over and the twisted round on her stall and looked at her ,"I've seen a whole lot worse than this buddie" she said with a grin before turning her head and looking over her sholder and then she paused and dropped her hand in to the pocket of her combats and took out a bit of scrap paper and waited until the bartender came over and then handed it to him ,"2 of those if you would" nix said with a grin as the man turned the paper over. He read down it for a moment before nodding and then he looked up at her ,"you got enough to cover it darlin'?" He asked and nix narrowed her eyes ,"just get it" she snarled suddenly and the man nodded his head and rushed away down the bar. Nix turned back to her new compaion and then nodded her head ,"I'm from London but I've worked all over, I spend most of my free time in dublin and London or places near by to them, as the fancy takes me" she said with a snigger

June chuckled; she could already tell she was going to like this one.A boring night made interesting.
"I don't doubt it." Stretching out her legs, she watched as Nix spoke to the bartender, sipping at her beer quietly.Yup, definitely haven't seen her around before. Her trim eyebrows jumped up when the woman sitting across from her suddenly snarled; an unexpected show of ferocity.Heh, didn't see that one coming.
"I'm from London but I've worked all over, I spend most of my free time in dublin and London or places near by to them, as the fancy takes me"
"Oh?" June fell silent for a moment as she finished off the last of her beer. Noticing the ash hanging off the end of her smoldering cigarette, she tapped it off into the empty bottle before bringing it back to her lips."It would seem I've come across a fellow drifter. London is a nice place, although I find myself coming back to Dublin again and again." With a shrug of her shoulders, she leaned back to breath out a plume of smoke."Where are my manners? I'm June, you?"

Nix turned her body round and then dipped her head and then nodded ,"I have a place in London so stopping there is easy for me and besides ,there's All sorts of underground stuff goes on there that none of the elders of any thing know about and while trade down there is most handy, there's also some total and utter slime balls down there" she said with a snigger as she turned her head and looked at the bartender.
The man was old and had grey hair and he had light grey eyes but nix wasn't stupid and she knew the other woman sitting with her wasn't either so she was wondering why the other woman hadn't realised why she had snapped, the man walked back over to her and set down a long and thin glass with a mix of four different colours of four different liquids and a long dark brown liquid in it that looked more like glue that something you would drink

"Heh, there are many things the elders are unaware of. But it's true-the things they have down there can be pretty useful. Well, that's most of the time." Glancing down on what was left of her death stick, she tossed the butt into her empty beer bottle before reaching for another cigarette. With a snap of her fingers, she lit it."As for slime balls, not everyone is gong to be a saint through and through."
When the bartender returned with Nix's multi-colored beverage, her confusion from earlier returned;first the younger woman's outburst, and now the mystery drink.Huh, can't say I've ever seen anything like that before, and that's saying something.
"Uh, hey." June paused to tap her ash into her empty beer bottle turned ash tray"At the risk of sounding dumb, just what is it that you're drinking? It kinda looks like a rainbow distilled into a drinkable form."

Nix gave a dark And mischievous grin and then took out the bit of paper from her pocket again ,there was a drawing if an anime character there and he was holding three things, a apple and a slice of strawberry cake in one hand and a human heart in the other. On his chest was A White t-shirt with A symbol of S and a L wrapped around each other ,"I'm sorry to say if you don't know from this drawing then I would have to kill you if I told you" she said with a snigger before she put the paper down on the counter and she picked up her glass and shook her head so the brown liquid broke in to the others and then she sniggered before taking a drink

Blinking, she frowned down at the piece of paper Nix was holding before she gave up on figuring out what, exactly, she had in the glass in front of her. The first two seemed to make sense, the last one-the human heart- perplexed her.Who in the seven hells would want to eat a raw heart? Too chewy and slimy. Sitting back in her seat, she took a long draw from her cigarette before breathing out another plume of smoke.
"Oh, you've no idea how many people have said that to me; gets kinda old after a while, you know?" Watching Nix down the drink, she had to keep from wrinkling her nose in disgust."Saying 'I can't tell you' would get the point across just as easily, but I'm rambling now.Thinking back, you still haven't answered my question;what's your name? You know mine, so it's only fair."

Nix smiled and then dropped her hand and tucked the picture away in her pocket once again before looking back up and grinning at the other woman ,"Nix Night, also known as shadow in a fair few places, and nights water demon I south America too, I had some troll work up there that got me that name" she said with a smirk before she lifted her glass and took another drink and felt the icy kick in her chest followed by a small but sweet taste. "aww, the language of the bars" she sang a little off handedly before laughing to herself and turning back round on her stall again. "so why you out here? On work business or having some time off from work?" nix asked

Junes eyebrows moved up towards her hairline at the mention of trolls.Just when you think you've got someone figured out.Rubbing at the scar across the bridge of her nose, she could almost feel the distant pangs of pain that the tissue represented. Pulling herself back to the present, she grinned at Nix.
"Nix, huh? Well then, it's nice to make your acquaintance."Waving down the bartender, she gestured for another beer. Breathing out another plume of smoke, she returned her attention back to Nix "So, you're a troll hunter; fancy that, meeting you in some dinky bar in Dublin. And I've gotta say, it's been a while since I met one...so very few make it to old age."As she spoke, there was a hint of sadness in her voice, before she returned to her perpetual smirk.
When the bartender came with her beer, she grunted her thanks along with a murmured 'put it on my tab'. Hearing the conversation turn back in her direction, June shrugged.
"Eh, normally I would've made a bee-line for the motel I'm staying at, but I felt a drink was in order; being a bouncer for a crappy night club really takes it outta me."

Nix smiled and then dipped her hand in to her coat pocket again and took out a small leather bound book. Placing it on the table she opened the front of it to reveal the words ,"successful jobs". She flicked through a few pages before stopping and then turning round for the other woman to see. There were dates written in it with job details such as "hungry troll in amazon needs killing" or "new but wild vampire need capturing for marketer" and such like, just about every type of enemy the magical world had were listed in there somewhere ,"it's not just trolls that pay my rent" she said with a laugh before taking another drink from her glass.
"and besides, I'm not even 90 yet so that's hardly anything ,I can live out alot longer" she said between drinks from the glass ,"I just don't see the appeal of working with humans because theirs so little risk and adventure there, at-least with our magical kind we have a chance of losing" she said with a small smile when she mentioned the work she was doing here.

A low whistle escaped her scarred lips as she read through the successful jobs Nix showed her.Looks like I've just run across another hunter for hire; but what the hell would she be doing here?There's hardly any beasties lurking around every corner..I think. Sipping at her beer, she stared down into its brownish, murky depths, a thoughtful look on her scarred face. Hearing Nix switch to the topic of humans, she glanced up from her beer and back to the other woman.
"Heh, zero chance of action and adventure is exactly why I work with humans." Leaning back in her seat, she spared a glance for the clock, heaving a deep sigh when she noticed what time it was."When I was younger, I would've agreed with you; but now I'm pushing the big 111, and I'm pretty content with avoiding the magical world all together. But hey, that's just me." Falling silent, June took another sip of her beer before placing her mostly used cigarette back to her lips.

Nix smiled and then nodded her head ,"I remember when to most people 10 was a big birthday and 50 was a milestone and if you go to 100 you were dead lucky. I'm aiming for about 500 myself now, I just wanna see if I can do it" nix said with a laugh before she took another sip from her straw. "but I mean humans are cute and fluffy and all that but they just can't seem to widened their ideas, a vampire cuts someone up and they say it's a murderer, a troll kills people every night on the hour, murderer" she said and then rolled her eyes ."no imagination at all, or atleast those in charge have none" she said and then muttered quietly about unless governments to herself for a moment before looking back at the other woman. "so ,mind if I ask why your working? Need the cash or like the job, I live to work you see, I'd rather be poor but hunting beasties than rolling in it and bored stiff" she said and then nodded her head at the other girl before taking another drink
