Dublin, Sometime in the Night
In a back alley that was heaped with trash and other detritus lay a body, a gleaming pool of blood quickly spreading from the multiple lacerations on their arms and legs. The few people that passed by didn't notice as something large, pale and noiseless fled the scene, searching for a new victim.
"You dragged me out of bed for this? A body with a couple bad scratches?"Octavia Robin, a petite woman with cat-like eyes stared down at the stiff body, rubbing the sleep away from her eyes as she did so. It was 1 am in the morning, a time when any sane person would be asleep; she was a sane person, but the man she worked for was far from it. Said man was standing a mere foot from her, glaring a hole into the back of her head."Okay, okay-god-I'll call in more help. Looks like we've got a vampire on the loose."
Sometime later Nix Night would awake to a message on her phone, telling her to report to the following location as soon as she was able; she had a new assignment.
Dublin, 8 am
Word of the murder had spread through Dublin fast, and even people without many friends or Internet caught wind of the news rapidly, including June; it didn't help that the murder had taken place mere streets away from her current workplace.
" 'ey, you hear about this? Some slasher out on the streets?" Her fellow bodyguard for hire, a surly man that couldn't be older than herself shrugged his hunched shoulders.
"When the crazies come out to play, that's where we come in." he grunted her way as she wandered over to a chair and slumped into it. The two of them sat in the doorway of a rundown warehouse, staring at the only way in-and out- of the place. That morning her employer had shoved past them both, clearly agitated and lacking sleep if the dark circles under his eyes were anything to go on;maybe the dead guy was a friend.
