Val stood at the end of the pier in her jeans and a jumper. It was a cold day, nothing she was not used to. She wished she had on her long trench coat Gastly. It would have kept her warm. Her hair whipped around her face as she looked across the water. There had been many things change in a year. She did not know what would lay ahead anymore. She just went day by day. Val pulled her arms across her chest and started to get annoyed with herself. She turned around and looked at the empty dock. There was hardly anyone come here and it was a cold day. It was Val's only day off in ages between both training places and her detective work for the Sanctuary. She had not been able to spend much time with her family. She hated knowing that her refection was spending all the time with them lately but she had things on her mind. She was expecting to see Fleature most of her spare time was spent with him popping around the world. But he had been distracted lately. She was puzzled over the thought she wished she could talk to someone. But after the romenent is still possessing her only friend.
She let out a deep breath and saw someone walking onto the pier. She smiled and turned back around to the sea. She did not feel like talking to a stranger at the moment in time so she hoped they did not come across.

Nix pulled up her motorbike and slid off it and then looked about and spotted a sturdy looking sidebar and wheeled the bike over to it and then flicked down it's stand and walked a little away before turning back and grinning ,she would be able to see if from the pier so leaving it unchained wouldn't be an issue for her. She dipped her hands in the pockets of her dark combats and then walked onto the pier before shaking her head and sighing ,"and you thought you would be able to go a whole day with out them" she said in a low voice. She dipped her hands in to her coat pocket and took out her fingerless leather gloves and slid them on to her hands and smiled as she felt her power trickle back to herself as the gloves had charged while she had had them off her hands but none the less, she liked having them on when she was in a new place

Val looked over her shoulder and looked at the person walking up the pier she could not be bothered with people today. She wanted t spend time with by herself clearing her head. With the past missions she had not had time to herself. She had left her reflection with her family so she could have the hole day. She wished she had gone to Gordon's house know. At least she could read some books and just chill. She hoped the person that was coming closer would not know her or would not try and talk to her she was not in the best of moods.
The person was getting closer and she noticed it was a woman. Older then herself she recognized the face but she could not remember from where. She turned her head again and looked at the waves. She felt the cool power of her ring in her hand and she had a feeling that this woman was magical as well. She lent on the railings and felt the wind flip around her. She tried controlling the air so her hair was not getting any more a mess. She smiled a calm surrounding her. She went back to looking at the waves as she noticed the woman stop next to her.

Nix walked down the peir and then paused beside a younger girl and she tilted her head to one side and she looked the girl up and down and then she broke in to a grin before holding out a bare hand and then gently tapping her sholder ,"I won't say anything because I can feel the stress rolling off you but I just wanted to say, loving the ring kiddo" she said in a light voice before she dipped her hand in to her inside coat pocket and rummaged around with her fingers for a moment and then she felt her fingers catch on her gloves.
She pulled her gloves out of her pocket and slid them on to her hands and then flexed her fingers and shefelt the slight buzz coming from the close range to the other girl and then she slipped her hands into her combats pockets before walking away from the girl a little to the very end of the pier and looked down in to the water

Val felt the hands of the girl tap her on the shoulder she dropped controlling the air and she felt the full wind smack into her. Sending her hair wild, she tutted but did not move to look at the girl as she spoke. Val cleanshed her fist with the hand with her ring on it. The girl did know about magic. Val tilted her head and looked at her as she walked to the very top of the pier it was not far away from Val. She did not move she just turned around and folded her arms across her chest and looked at the girl. She know her but she still could not think were from.
"Do i know you from some where your face is so formula" Val did not move and did not speak up. She had spoken loud enough to be heard over the wind. She was not going to go up to the girl but she wanted to know. She looked the girl over and her eyes fell to the gloves on the girls hands. She smiled she knew how the girl know about her ring "necromancy" she said to herself. She had not seen her when she had beet training with Wrath, so how did she know her. She was puzzled.

Nix tilted her to head one side as she heard the girl call out to her and she smiled and then flexed her bare finger tips and a thin line of dark purple shadows wrapped themselves around her hand before spreading up her arm and then then wrapping around her neck and thickening around her neck like a scarf. "I know I've seen your face about but I've seen a lot of faces in my time so that's not really a ironing out kind of a thing" she said with a smiled and then she turned round and walked back over towards the younger girl and she held out a gloved hand to her and then dipped her head as her coat was blown open ,"Nix Night or Shadow, I'm known by both" she said with a smile

Val tilted her head in away that Skulduggery did. She had learnt it off him and it always put a smile on her face. The way he moved his head when he was thinking. She looked at the woman. Her thought where true and she was very bold too. In a place where people could see her magic. "Valkyrie Cain, detective." She turned back to looking at the sea and lent on the railing. The wind was picking up but Val was determined for it not to spoil her only day off. Then a thought flashed over her head.
"You've worked for the sanctuary haven't you? That's where i know you from, but i have not seen you at the Temple." Val said in her normal voice she was not threatened by the girl they where on the same team after all. She was a good guy wasn't she. Val looked back to the water and it went silent after Nix answered. " What brings you here then? there are many place in Ireland better then here why have you chose this pier?" Val was a little concerned it was different for her to meet another Adapt in Haggard of all places.

Nix smiled and then turned round and leaned backward against the rail around the pair and she nodded her head ,"since I retired I've wandered a lot, I normally stay in London and Dublin but I've heard that a fair bit magical has been happening here lately so I thought would come along and have a look about little bit" she said with a grin as the wind blew through her hair and brushed it over her sholder. "according to the books, I don't work for any more, but I do some off handed work here and here to cover the bills and fill up those needed thrills" she said before nodding her head in the younger girls direction ,"I take it from the scent your a home girl here" she said with a smirk

Val nodded to all the questions. It was sapose to be her day of, she did not have to think about magic or anything just been a normal teenager. "I am locale yes" She kept her eyes fixed to he sea as she thought for a moment. She looked down the pier no one was around so she was safe to carry on her compensation. "I like the bike by the way, My mum and dad wont let me have one. They think it is too dangerous. But they don't see this side of my life. Val let out a small laugh. It was true she was not a defenselessness little girl anymore. She could do some damage and if they asked Fletcher he would say. "Hoe come you don't stay inside the Temple like the rest of the Nacromancey people?" She was just wondering most of all.

Nix smiled and then looked down the pier to her bike ,"she was the first thing I ever bought with my own money from jobs, she means a lot to me, it helps that she's been tweaked to go over 220 miles an hour" she said before sniggering to herself. "in answer to the other question, I was born like this" she said rather simply before looking at the Younger girl again ,"I had a natural ability to work with this sort of magic and while my family didn't Like it I loved it, when I ran away from home when I was nine I was found and trained by a master who's now about 640 years old, his son and I trained together under him for about 50 years and so I learnt by his teachings ,not all those in the temple" she explained in a long breath. After she had finished she looked down at the girl and nodded to her ,"and yourself? You have become stuck down yet I can see, so are you sure this is the life for you?" she asked with a slightly softer voice
